Our Story

Wags & Wellies was born in December 2022, when I (Emma) decided to follow my lifelong dream of working with dogs in the great outdoors. After 30 years of running my own businesses in the hospitality industry, I reached burnout and knew it was time for a fresh start. Retraining to work with dogs was the best decision I’ve ever made – I haven’t looked back since, and I now love every moment of this new chapter.

In 2024, my best friend Joe joined me full time, and together we’ve built Wags & Wellies into a thriving, heart-led business. Between us, we have many years of experience caring for our own dogs as well as family pets, and we’ve invested in specialist training, including canine first aid and professional “train the trainer” certification with a top canine expert here in South Wales.

Every walk is an adventure – never the same as the last. We’re lucky to be surrounded by stunning woodlands, mountain trails, and coastal paths, so our Wagstars enjoy variety, enrichment, and plenty of fun in safe, natural spaces.

Over time, we’ve grown a wonderful community of dogs and their humans – our Wags Family. We’re so grateful for the trust our clients place in us to care for their beloved pets, whether it’s on daily walks or staying in their homes while their families are away. For us, this isn’t just a business – it’s a way of life built on love, trust, and a shared passion for dogs.
